ACM Inter Collegiate Programming Contest - UMT Lahore
This post is a call for participation for ACM Inter Collegiate Programming Contest which is regional level contest for World Final to be held in the US in May 2017.
I would strongly urge you to register your teams before the deadline 16th November 2016. Furthermore, I would request you to please share this message in your circles. This will certainly help us finding the best team of the country to represent us in the world finals.

ACM-ICPC, the Association of Computer Machinery – International Collegiate Programming Competition, Regional contest i.e. ACM-ICPC Lahore Regional 2016, is going to be held at UMT, Lahore. The Computer Science Department of UMT Lahore is organizing this event. ACM-ICPC is the world’s oldest, largest and most prestigious international competition for Computer Science students. It is a team-based, programming competition that evaluates problem-solving, programming and teamwork skills amongst university students around the globe. The contest involves a network of universities hosting Regional. Participation in Regional has grown to thousands of the finest students in computing disciplines. Last year 40,266 contestants from 2,736 universities in 102 countries competed in regional competitions at over 481 sites worldwide. The winner team from each Regional contest advances to compete in the ACM-ICPC World Finals annually. This year’s World Finals will be held in May 2017 in Rapid City in USA.
With this letter we extend our invitation to you. We request you to kindly encourage and facilitate your students to participate in this event. Such events help the participants to get the exposure and motivation to work even harder. This is a two phase regional event, the first phase is online phase in which all the participants will compete remotely, and this online round does not have any registration fee. Around top 100 teams from online round will qualify for the second phase that will be on UMT Lahore Campus. The winner of onsite round will be eligible to compete in world finals that are going to be held in USA. Each team consists of 3 students and a faculty coach (all students and faculty member should be from the same University). This will not only help to improve the future generation of programmers in Pakistan but also help us find the best possible team in our region. Registration is already active and will remain open till 16thNovember 2016. First round will be conducted online on 19th November 2016.Top teams from the online round will be automatically registered for the ACM ICPC Lahore Regional On-Site Round to be held on November 27th & 28th, 2016 at UMT, Lahore.
